November 8, 2013: Supplicatory Prayers Offered

Prayers were offered at the peak of the super typhoon ''Haiyang''.
We put on the big cross that is being venerated during the Season of Lent
because we believe it is needed in critical times like this.

Prayers were done according to hourly set up
by the Orthodox Traditions
by the family of Fr. Chrysostom
at the makeshift chapel of the
Holy Martyr Saint Eleftherios Orthodox Church,
Gubat, Sorsogon, Philippines - a church under
the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople
and the Orthodox Metropolitanate of Hongkong and Southeast Asia.

November 6, 2013, 6:00 P.M.: HMSEOC Prays for the Safety of the Country, Philippines against Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Some of the parishioners

come and pray for God's mercy and keep them safe
against the super typhoon "Yolanda" which is
coming in the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) as it continues
to accelerate towards the country according to the weather forecast.

HMSEOC Mission Team Visit Daet, Camarines Norte!

October 29-31, with the blessing of the Metropolitan Nectarios, bishop of the Holy Metropolitanate of Hongkong, the HMSEOC Mission Team (Fr. Chrysostom, Presbytera Mary, Gabriel, Ioannis, Theodora and Andrew) visit the place of Athanasius in Basud, Camarines Norte and the couple-Branko and Lorie in Daet, Camarines Norte.




The team were blessed by the hospitality and very warm welcome of the faithful. 

Fr. Chrysostom serves confession and celebrates Divine Liturgy.  Fellowshipping and Agape meal follows.

BEARING FRUITS IN SEASON OR OUT OF SEASON

Can be likened to a poor family that is experiencing real hardship, this small and struggling pioneering Orthodox Community of the Holy Theophany Orthodox Mission still shows life - the very ethos of Orthodoxy is evident; that even in the midst of persecution and hardship, two new converts are added to the flock.  

Tatay Rene, now Nectan and Lea who is Maria now were just baptized and Christmated today, October 13, 2013 at the biggest baptismal font in the whole world - the Pacific Ocean.  "Maski papan-o sa butnga man san masakiton na kamutangan nakapaluwas baya man sin buhay. Maski luway-luway, maski inanay padagos na mabubuhay sa herak nin Kagurangnan na marhay."  "Doxa si o Theo!"
