Tatay Rene, now Nectan and Lea who is Maria now were just baptized and Christmated today, October 13, 2013 at the biggest baptismal font in the whole world - the Pacific Ocean. "Maski papan-o sa butnga man san masakiton na kamutangan nakapaluwas baya man sin buhay. Maski luway-luway, maski inanay padagos na mabubuhay sa herak nin Kagurangnan na marhay." "Doxa si o Theo!"

THE HOLY THEOPHANY ORTHODOX MISSION
EFHARISTO!
It was on May 4, 2013 when we received the metal gospel book, a day before Easter.
These two censers (one is for the Holy Martyr St. Eleftherios - Gubat, Sorsogon and the other is for the mission) and a box of charcoal just arrived last September 16, 2013. These all came from a person we have not yet met personally. These packages are all from Larnaca, Cyprus.
Epharisto! Thank you very much!
Because of this, we are opening the opportunities and chances for all Orthodox faithful anywhere in the world, who are interested and could be potential donors for our church here. Herewith is the list of religious items that we need. You may choose any item/s listed that you believe you can afford to donate:
1. icons and icon stands
2. baptismal font
3. office equipment
4. big candle stand or candelabra
5. episcopal throne
6. book stands
7. chandelier
8. lamp-stand (two pairs)
9. set of aer and kalimata
10. set of chalice with paten, lance, spoon, asterisk
11. blessing cross
12. Holy Cross and the Exapteryga
13. zeon
14. lantern or torches
15. altar table mantles
16. iconostasis curtains
17. etc.
However, the best and most glorious help that we can have of course is the permanent land and church for our community. Our community is already seven years. It is about time for us to settle in permanent established place.
So any manner, kind, amount, way and means of help possible will have much value for us. LORD HAVE MERCY.

As part of the program, a Divine Liturgy was solemnly and offered as a form of thanksgiving of the community. Then followed by a simple numbers form the children, youth, and adult members of the community.
Rev. Fr. Chrysostom's message:
For the children:
"God is so good to us... we reach this far and now you are here with us journeying in faith. We are so thankful to God, He gave you to us. You are indeed gifts to us and to this Church. What can I advice to all of you is that read, read and study now that you can already read and understand. Study the faith that we have receive learned. from the Orthodox Church. Look at me now, I am here because I started reading when I was a child. Because of continues of reading of anything, it might be books, pamphlets, etc.. I learn many things and still learning. And I found the truth by searching, reading and studying and now imparting what I have learned. Come on, you can do it precious children of God in this community."
For the youth:
"Start practicing the truth. Be bold. Don't be timid. Saint Paul said to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 - Let no man despise thy truth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. You are suppose to lead now. When I was thirteen (13) I became the president of the Youth Ministry of this community. During our days, we can already help defending what we believed. We were able to help in sharing the truth in other places without any single centavo in our pockets. Youth, you can do better than us because you are now in the TRUTH. Use the modern technology that you have now in sharing the Good News. Another thing is that, we (your parents) are still alive, and still able to support you morally, physically, and spiritually. Youth stand up! Come on. You can do it. God is with us!"
For the Adults/Parents/Grandparents
"Don't surrender our children. Continue to inculcate in them the Orthodox Faith - the TRUTH while we are still present with them. Try to consider this Stephana and Onesimus, you have three daughters and may be from among them, we can raise nuns, right? Or in the family of Antonia and Constantinos, you have five sons, also maybe from them we may have priests! Or may be from my children someone will follow my footsteps. So dear parents, continue teaching our faith to our dear children. We need to see them walking in the right way even we are no longer with them physically. They are the ones who will continue what we have received from the Orthodox Church. That's why please, let us continue sharing with our family the Orthodox Life. God is in our side!"
For Everybody:
"I am happy because Philippines is becoming Orthodox. As far as I know, I am the third Orthodox priest here in Bicol Region. First is Fr. Vencencius Escarcha. Second is Fr. Geroge Daligdig and third is me (via Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople) and the fourth is Fr. Raphael "Jeffrey" Garcia (under the jurisdiction of Antochian Patriarchate). We are all Bicolanos and praise God, two of them are from Gubat - our place. Hold on, even we don't have yet the church building that we are praying for so long, we have the Orthodox faith, THE TRUE CHURCH... Let us continue praying for one another... Let us continue sharing the Truth...Let us continue in our journey with Him...Let us walk our talk. Keryie Eleison!"

THE HOLY THEOPHANY ORTHODOX COMMUNITY CELEBRATES EPIPHANY
The Holy Theophany Orthodox Mission
of Bacon District, Sorsogon City celebrates
the Feast of Epiphany with Fr. Chrysostom.
The Orthodox faithfuls celebrate with
a Divine Liturgy, thanking the Lord for
His great mercy and grace.
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brethren to dwell together in unity!"
Psalm 133
THE NEW MISSION: HOLY THEOPHANY ORTHODOX COMMUNITY
One thing that is very observable in Philippine geography,
is the repeated using of names in different places may it be towns/
municipalities, cities and provinces. For example: Sorsogon City,
Sorsogon Province - meaning Sorsogon City is inside the Province
of Sorsogon. Another example: is Bulacan, Bulacan; Iloilo City in
Iloilo Province; Albay, Albay; Quezon, Quezon and etc...
Regarding our new mission which is the Holy Theophany Orthodox
Community, it is located at Bacon District, Sorsogon City, Province of
Sorsogon (while the Holy Martyr Saint Eleftherios Orthodox Church is
in the Municipality of Gubat, Sorsogon Province).
Bacon District was a former town, but was integrated to former
town of Sorsogon (which is now a city) to comply with the
requirements of citihood thus, Bacon District became part of
Sorsogon City.
There were nine (9) faithful orthodox in Bacon District who are
parishioners of The Holy Martyr Saint Eleftherios Orthodox Church
in Gubat, Sorsogon. Now, they are ten already due to the
latest Christmation that took place.
Bacon is more than thirty one kilometers away from Gubat,
and transportation fare is very expensive. First they walk,
then board a tricycle (a motorcycle with side car for passengers),
then jeepney, another jeepney and another tricycle before they
reach Gubat. They will board the same kind of vehicles back
home of course.
This is the first reason why they must have their own community
or mission. Another reason is their very potential of becoming
another church.
We do not know what lies ahead of this new mission. We do
not want to preempt what the will of God is. However, one thing
is sure in us, and that is our firm commitment in establishing
this new community. We are looking for more open doors of
opportunities for us to plant the seed of Orthodoxy.
Please include in your prayers: Bulan and Irosin - all in the province
of Sorsogon, Legazpi City in Albay province, Naga City in
Camarines Sur, and Daet in Camarines Norte.
Therefore said he to them, the harvest is great, but the laborers
are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would
send forth laborers into his harvest.
